On the back of half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan, India managed to post 264 runs for the loss of 4 wickets by the end of the first day’s play in the Manchester Test. However, a major concern for Team India is the injury to Rishabh Pant, who had to be taken off the field in an ambulance. Here is the 2025 India vs England 4th Test Match Day 1 Highlight.
Pant was attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes when the ball struck his leg. He was visibly in severe pain, unable to stand on his feet, and was seen bleeding from his leg. Due to poor light, stumps were called early on the first day.

Rishabh Pant Test history
Earlier, by tea, India had scored 149 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. In the second session, India lost three wickets KL Rahul (46), Yashasvi Jaiswal (58), and Shubman Gill (12). In the first session, India had a solid start, managing 78 runs without losing any wickets. Before getting injured, Rishabh Pant became the first wicketkeeper-batter in Test history to score over 1,000 runs on foreign soil.
It is worth mentioning that England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Team India made three changes to their playing XI. Sai Sudharsan was included in place of Karun Nair, while Kamboj and Shardul Thakur were brought in to replace the injured Akash Deep and Reddy.
England Bowling Without the New ball
England has not taken the new ball even after completing 80 overs, as poor light conditions have prevented their fast bowlers from bowling. As a result, England is relying on their spinners.
